After coming home from Costa Rica, I had to deal with an extraordinary amount of Probars. Some might remember that earlier this year, I was accepted into a sponsorship and I began to receive shipments of bars on a regular basis. Well, when I was away for 3 three months, the bars continued to accumulate [...]

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating green papaya salad, then you know that it is one of the most delicious, light meals to indulge in! I love the crunchy papaya strands and the crisp, fresh taste of lime and thai herbs. Living in Costa Rica was a pleasure when it came to this [...]

The Good, The Bad and the Unknown

Hello all! First off, I want to apologize for my lack of activity on KombuchaCHIC. Life has been a whirlwind of changes and uncertainty, and now that things are finally stabilizing, I can refocus my energy here. May 16th, 2009 · View Comments
Oranges in Spanish are called naranjas. As you can see, Costa Rican oranges look very different from ones you find in the United States. This is the area in which we do a lot of our viewing, music playing, reading, and general passing of time.
That’s all for now. [...]

Here I am enjoying the view.
Shardul says that he likes it, too!
Check out our other blog to see pics of the inside of our house!

Hullo Out There!

As you may have noticed, I have not been posting lately. Here in the small town of Cabanga, CR, its not easy to get internet access. Being without a motor vehicle makes it difficult to get to an internet cafe. We can ride our bikes up the big, rocky hills, but we have to go [...]

Mango-Luscious Green Smoothie
March 29th, 2009 · View Comments
This is perhaps my favorite green smoothie recipe ever! I made it up today, with ingredients that I had laying around the kitchen. As it turns out, this method of food preparation seems to be a great of getting those creative juices flowing. Here are the ingredients:
1 banana
6-8 figs
1 mango
1 handful spinach
Juice of 1 orange
cold [...]
