As you may have noticed, I have not been posting lately. Here in the small town of Cabanga, CR, its not easy to get internet access. Being without a motor vehicle makes it difficult to get to an internet cafe. We can ride our bikes up the big, rocky hills, but we have to go at times when the sun isn’t out. One attempt at this almost gave us heatstroke! One of our options is the bus system, which is what we used today.
I am currently in a small internet cafe in the town of Arenal, CR. Joe and I packed our laptops into our backpacks and headed out the door to catch an early bus into town. Its an unusually cool day, probably because its rainy and cloudy. The wet season won’t be here for another few months, but it still rains on a semi regular basis.
Here is a picture of our rental house we are living in.

It is small and simple. We had to buy a refridgerator and a mattress. Other than that, we don’t have any more furniture. That will come slowly with time, along with our Spanish. Shardul is doing fine, he likes being able to go outside and walk around the yard.

He still prefers to drink out of the sink!

This is the road we live on, it doesn’t get too much traffic, and when it does get some of it consists of livestock.

Life can be difficult sometimes with the culture shock and language barrier, but each day things get a little better. All in all, I’m glad we are here and I’m trying my best to make things work out.

Adios for now! I’ll update more later.
