Picking up the Camera

It’s been a while since I attempted to do any “artsy” photography, so yesterday was a fun day for me.  Joe and I took a nice mountain drive from Farmington to Bountiful, which is about 20 miles or so North of Salt Lake City.  We stopped in several places for some photo opportunities as well a hiking and biking.  Here are a couple that I came back with:

Need an idea on how to spend labor day weekend?  Go outside and take a closer look at the beauty all around us.

  • Those pictures are beautiful. I wish it was nice enough to go outside here today. It's been so cold and damp lately.

Jacob really likes the dandelion shot. He loves to blow the seeds around our yard to make more of them.
  • Thanks Shannonmarie! I hope the weather is warming up for you and Jacob can still find some dandelions to blow!
  • The weather warmed up for a bit, but today is cool and wet again. No more dandelions at the moment. We'll look forward to them next year. For now, we can just admire your pics.
  • I think its wonderful that in these hectic, busy days that people still find the time to appreciate the simple joy of blowing dandelions in the wind. The weather is perfect here, still plenty of green leaves and lots of dandelions to go around. :) Almost time to bundle up and wait for snow!

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing. That drive really is beautiful. It is so close and yet so many people seem to forget it is there.
  • I never knew it was there, before. It's so fun to discover new places near home! Thanks for the comment. :)

Lori and I are going to spend Labor Day going a big bike ride to SLC and back.
  • That's awesome, Ryan! Did you have a good time? Joe and I need to make a bike trip up to Layton pretty soon. Maybe we can meet halfway? :)
  • Excellent focus on the camera! The bark is very detailed. I concur with spending labor day outside.
  • Thanks Gloria! I hope you had a wonderful holiday!
