Joe and I are members of an outdoor community called Bogley. Over the weekend, we were happy to spend time with some fellow members for the 2nd Annual Winterfest! It all started with a yummy dinner at a sushi restaurant.

It was a good thing we ate all that food, because we sure needed the energy in the morning. We hiked up one of my favorite trails, which also happens to be uphill almost the whole way. Add fresh powder to the mix, and you have quite the workout!

Here we are at one of the few flat areas.

The view was gorgoeous, of course. The fact that it overlooked our favorite resort, didn’t hurt, either.

Snowshoeing is such a wonderful way to get exercise in the winter. Once you start moving, your body temperature rises, and you don’t feel cold at all. The mountains are so serene and beautiful, you can’t help but feel happy and awed out there.

Our hike lasted about 2.5 of actual snowshoeing, (not counting breaks) and its estimated that I burned about 1600 calories! Now that is an endorphin rush that I can feel good about.
I think the rest of the groups shares my sentiments.

The Winterfest concluded with dinner at a local brew pub. Our feast was well deserved and received! Sadly, I don’t have pics of the dinner, so I’ll end this post with another group shot.

Thanks Bogley members for the fun times and the pictures! It was a blast and I can’t wait for the next one!
